My Dear Reader,

A lansquenet in the Thirty Years' War. Our hero fights on the side of the Catholics, a loin strong fighter. No holylike nun, no virgin novice and no burgher's shy and chaste virgin daughter are safe from him.
But then the finger of a God touches him, purely by chance. From then on, he never grows a day older, escapes the war and becomes a tutor to noble virgin maidens in Italy, France, Sweden and China. He is swept into the maelstrom of the Second World War and joins the Resistance.
